More than eight million children and youth are involved in Educo's initiatives throughout 14 countries. The organization is a worldwide development NGO dedicated to improving education, child safety, and child participation.

Educo in India

Since 1998, Educo has been carrying out its mission in India, which is to build a society in which all children can enjoy their rights fully and live lives that are worthy of respect.

 

Through its many programmes, Educo has, by the year 2020, impacted the lives of around 2 million young people and children mostly through addressing educational and safeguarding concerns for children.

 

Educo works with regional Indian NGOs to give aid to kids in need around the country. The core issues that EducoIndia and its partners are attempting to address include child labour, child trafficking, child marriage, continuity in education, access to equality education, safety in schools and communities, gender-based discrimination, seasonal migration, and participation of children in local governance to bring their concerns to the forefront.

 

To implement the above measures, Educo intended to launch an online campaign against child labour and gather ambassadors for this cause. Therefore, Educo has started a digital campaign against child labour in the states along with its partner NGO, People for Rural Education Movement (PREM) in Odisha and network alliance campaign Against Child Labour - Tamil Nadu and Puducherry (CACL-TN & PY).
